Ruth Warren and Sylvia Townshend, Artweek convenors, wish to thank the many volunteers involved in bringing Artweek and the other two successful exhibitions to you.

“As convenors we sincerely thank the many volunteers, more than fifty, who set up and dismantled the Artweek Exhibition at the Recreation Centre. I’m sure that we must create a record by hanging 360 works in just two hours. It is your volunteer help that makes this possible.

Thank you also to the many who minded the exhibitions each day. Every day 10 volunteers were required to mind the exhibitions, that is 100 people over the ten days; consequently many were called on to help out more than once. Your welcome to visitors helped create the friendly relaxed atmosphere.

To the Arts Council Committee members it has been a very busy time with many of you spending very little time at home. The extra tasks such as putting up and taking down signage and hanging the other exhibitions mean that you have all been very busy. We hope you can all put your feet up and relax a little now. We thank you very much.”
